Swim Instructor

Job Overview: 

The Swim Instructor role is to teach novice swimmers to learn and develop proper swim strokes, dives, and turns. Swim Instructor will teach swim lessons in a group lessons setting with swimmers from 5 years old first-time swimmers to high school aged swimmers learning the basics of swimming.

Hourly rate: $25 - 30 per hour pending experience

Responsibilities:

• Teach basic swim skills in a group lesson setting
• Provide correct technical feedback to swimmers
• Minimal to no administrative work
• Communicate with supervisor all necessary information from lessons
• Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment that allows children to succeed

​​Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be reliable and available (weekends)
• Must have excellent observational and communication skills
• Must be able to work in the US
• Demonstrate an ability to work well and communicate effectively with swimmers of all ages/abilities

Education/Experience:

• At least High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in competitive swimming (USA Swimming, high school swimming and/or collegiate background preferred)
• Experience teaching in swimming or education settings
• Maintain lifeguard certification
