FULL-TIME COACHING POSITION

Team Charlotte Swimming (‘TEAM’), located in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking highly motivated and qualified applicants for a full-time coaching position due to tremendous team development in the past 12 months. 

TEAM utilizes high quality lane space at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (“MCAC”) in uptown Charlotte, the primary aquatic center within the area, Queens University of Charlotte, and in the South Charlotte area. During the summer months, TEAM expands to offer programming at multiple outdoor facilities. The full-time candidate TEAM is looking for will primarily be coaching at the Matthews (South Charlotte) location. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, passion for teaching and the sport of swimming, a demonstrated ability to motivate athletes in and out of the pool, and a willingness to collaborate and work with a dedicated team of coaches committed to providing a safe, positive and healthy environment to assist in the growth and development of young people through the lessons of competitive swimming.

FULL-TIME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Help develop, implement and oversee a seasonal training plan for 3 practice groups.

  • This candidate will be responsible for leading 14 & under practice groups, with the opportunity to assist with senior level programming available for the right candidate.

  • Collaborate effectively with other coaches and staff members.

  • Effectively and timely communicate with parents, athletes, coaching staff.

  • Assist as requested with administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2-5 yrs. coaching experience as a USA Swimming certified coach.

  • All required coaching certifications up to date.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to think strategically and willingness to actively contribute to one of Charlotte’s fastest growing club teams. 

  • Working knowledge of the Team Unify and Hy-Tek systems.

  • Demonstrated passion for learning, continuing education and improving as a coach who’s active in the community.

TEAM offers a very competitive salary, including signing and performance bonus opportunities, along with paid vacation and sick days. TEAM pays travel meet expenses, professional dues and provides a budget for continuing education.
