Position Description
The Associate Swim Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach with coaching, organizing and promoting Texas Elite Swimming. The Coach assist the Head Swim Coach with, among other things, conducting practices, motivating swimmers, and instructing swimmers in strategies and techniques.
Essential job duties and responsibilities

Assist the Head Swim Coach in instructing athletes on rules, regulations and techniques of the sport.
Organize and direct individuals and group practices as directed by the Head Swim Coach.
Assess swimmers’ skills.
Monitor swimmers during competition and practice.
Effectively coach various age group levels, setting a strong, positive, enthusiastic, and highly energetic tone for all age groups, as needed.
Communicate effectively with board members, parents, swimmers, and other coaches through a variety of oral and written communication methods to ensure members are well-informed of activities and deadlines.
Assist the Head Swim Coach and/or Assistant Head Coach with planning of annual practice and meet schedules, as necessary.
Assist the Head Swim Coach and/or Assistant Head Coach with the organization and submission of swim meet entries to meet hosts by stated deadlines, as necessary.
Attend scheduled swim meets (approximately 1-2 weekends per month during swim season), practices, meetings, and team functions as required.
Other associated duties as may be required.
Fill in for the Head Swim Coach and/or Assistant Head Swim Coach when necessary.
Position requirements
This position requires skills and abilities, including but not limited to:
Possess an expertise and knowledge of swimming at all age groups.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, coaches, board members, and staff.
Strong organizational and preparation skills
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with officials, administrators, employees, swimmers, parents, board members, coaches, and staff
Must have and maintain all the necessary clearances and certifications required by USA Swimming and Pennsylvania Law (for individual working directly with minors).
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit or stand in a hot, humid, noisy environment for long periods of time.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, grab, pull and push objects in or out of water, squat down, stoop, kneel, crouch and jump.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain physical and mental fitness level consistent with readiness to respond to emergency situations
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform all of the essential duties of the position listed above.
Be able to pass a full background check and possess all current clearances and certifications required by Pennsylvania law and USA Swimming.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be authorized to work in the United States of America.
Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect TEXE's needs.
Must have reliable transportation.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Position will remain open until qualified individual is decided upon.
Position will start at the beginning of the Short Course Season in August
Texas Elite is a coach owned USA Swimming Team based out of Round Rock Texas, just north of Austin, TX. We practice in a state of the art 8 lane 50m pool during the Summer and switch to 24 lane 25 yard pool during the winter.
Texas Elite has experienced great growth the past 2 years. We have athletes ranging from 5 years old, all the way to International/Olympic athletes.
