Position Responsibilities
- Assist with coaching novice, beginner, and age group swimmers
- Support swimmer development through technique instruction, training, and encouragement
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and organized practice environment
- Attend assigned swim meets and support swimmers during competition
- Communicate professionally with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff
- Uphold all USA Swimming, Hawaiian Swimming, and SafeSport policies
Qualifications
- Competitive swimming and/or coaching experience preferred
- Positive attitude and ability to work with swimmers of varying ages and skill levels
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Willingness to complete and maintain all USA Swimming coach certifications
Required certifications (may be completed upon hire):
- USA Swimming Coach Membership
- Athlete Protection Training (APT)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Background check and SafeSport compliance
Schedule
- Part-time
- Monday through Friday, 5 pm to 6/6:30 pm
- Weekend swim meet availability as needed/desired
- Typical workload ranges from approximately 5–7.5 hours per week
Compensation
- Paid hourly for approved practice, meet, and required team activities
