The Calabasas Waves are a competitive age group swim team that is affiliated with USA Swimming. The Waves participate in age group meets as part of the Coastal Division of Southern California Swimming. Our goal is to give swimmers at all levels of ability the opportunity to pursue excellence through personal development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and strength of character, inspiring them to win with humility and lose with grace.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable coach to assist our swimmers in achieving their goals; someone who is passionate about coaching swimming, skilled at teaching stroke technique, and excited to be a part of a great coaching team.
We are located at Viewpoint School in Calabasas and practices are held between 3:30 and 7:30 pm Mondays thru Fridays and Saturday mornings. We participate in weekend meets typically one time a month. There is room for growth and potential to work with the Viewpoint School Aquatics Programs as well.
Responsibilities
Plan and lead ability and age-appropriate practices with an emphasis on technique and skill development.
Help create a positive and safe environment for all swimmers
Must be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff
Follow all team and USA Swimming safety guidelines
Qualifications
Prior experience coaching or teaching swimming is preferred
CPR and Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Certification
USA Swimming certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred

Swimmers compete against children in their age group (8 and under, 10 and under etc. up to age 19). Our goal is to give swimmers at all levels of ability the opportunity to pursue excellence through personal development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and strength of character, inspiring them to win with humility and lose with grace. We are currently taking new swimmers.
