Job Description

Assistant Swim Coach – Gold Group 

Location: Coronado, CA
Part-Time ~ 10-12 hrs/week

We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced coach for our Gold Group (ages 11–15) - focused on developing athletes with strong technical skills, competitive confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport. 

Responsibilities

  • Write and coach practices for a Gold-level group (ages 11–15)
  • Prepare swimmers for the transition into senior-level training and competition
  • Foster accountability, resilience, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff
  • Attend swim meets and team events

Qualifications

  • Previous competitive swim coaching experience required (preferably swimmers in the 11–15 age range)
  • Ability to develop athletes into successful, senior-level swimmers
  • Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training progression, and age-group athlete development
  • Positive, energetic, and encouraging coaching style
  • Current coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain), including CPR, First Aid, and SafeSport
  • Ability to coach on Coronado Island Monday-Friday after 4:30PM
