Swimming Coaches — Part-Time and Seasonal Full-Time Hourly Positions

Start Date: Immediate openings; exact start date is flexible.
TYDE Swim Team is seeking dedicated swimming coaches who want to help athletes grow, contribute to a strong team culture, and continue developing as coaches.
We are recruiting for multiple coaching opportunities, with part-time and full-time options depending on the position, program needs, and approved staffing. Assignments may include developmental, learn-to-swim, or age-group (12 and under or 13-18) swimmers across our YMCA locations.
About TYDE
TYDE is a YMCA competitive swimming program serving athletes from introductory team swimming through advanced competition. Our approach emphasizes sound technique, consistent effort, personal responsibility, and long-term athlete development. We want coaches who value the person behind the performance.
Responsibilities
Plan and lead practices appropriate to each group’s age, ability, and developmental goals.
Teach stroke technique, starts, turns, and effective training habits.
Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment with clear expectations.
Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and fellow coaches.
Attend assigned meets, staff meetings, and team activities.
Collaborate across locations to support a consistent TYDE experience.
Follow YMCA policies and applicable athlete protection requirements.
Complete additional duties assigned by the Head Coach to support daily team operations.
Assist other YMCA departments as needed, based on the position and organizational needs.
Qualifications
Competitive swimming or swim coaching experience.
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
A patient, dependable approach to working with young athletes.
Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and contribute ideas.
Ability to obtain and maintain required coaching and safety credentials and complete YMCA hiring requirements.
Availability for assigned practices and meets, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Schedule and Compensation
These are hourly positions, with pay starting at $14 per hour. Part-time and seasonal full-time openings are available, with the opportunity to start immediately. Seasonal full-time positions typically run from August through May; candidates hired now would work through May.
Weekly hours depend on the specific position. Schedules, locations, and responsibilities will be outlined during the interview process.
