North Side Swim Team   is currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and encouraging assistant coach. The North Side Swim Team (NSST) is a developmental and competitive year-round USA Swimming swim team in Des Moines, Iowa. Its mission is to develop high character athletes by providing a high quality, age appropriate, educational swim training experience and high caliber competition in a safe, healthy, positive environment at an affordable price. The coaching staff must be able to attend all practices for their group as well as any meets their swimmers participate in.  The coaching staff works together and supports each other and on occasion may be asked to fill in for another coach and their group if something comes up that they cannot be there. This part time position is responsible for assisting the Central Iowa Aquatics lead group coaches within the guidelines established by the Head Coach.  The primary objectives will be to: ·      Assist the head coach in planning and conducting swim team practices. ·      Provide guidance and support to swimmers during practice training sessions. ·      Foster a positive and inclusive team environment. Essential tools are excellent communication skills, working knowledge of proper stroke technique, being able to utilize the Commit Swimming and OnDeck apps and the CIA common language (both dry and wet), along with a contagious enthusiasm.
