Duneland Swim Club is a year-round competitive swim club serving athletes of all ages and abilities. Our mission is to provide a positive, challenging, and fun environment where swimmers can grow as athletes and individuals. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Coach to join our coaching staff and help develop the next generation of swimmers.

Position Summary

The Assistant Coach works directly with the Head Coach to lead one or more training groups (White, Yellow, or Maroon). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching proper technique, building confidence in young athletes, and contributing to a supportive team culture. The Assistant Coach will also gain mentorship in practice planning, professional development, and on-deck leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned training group practices with energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
  
  

• Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and deliver effective training sessions.
  
  

• Provide instruction that emphasizes stroke technique, fundamentals, and confidence building.
  
  

• Support athletes at the majority of swim meets, coaching and encouraging swimmers on deck.
  
  

• Take daily attendance and communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  
  

• Pursue ongoing professional growth through clinics, workshops, and continuing education.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience or competitive swimming background preferred.
  
  

• USA Swimming coach certification (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  
  

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  
  

• Positive, punctual, and team-oriented mindset.
  
  

• Commitment to swimmer development, retention, and enjoyment.
  
  

Compensation & Schedule

• Compensation: Based on experience and role scope.
  
  

• Schedule: Full-time or part-time available (must maintain a consistent schedule).
  
  

• Practices: Weekday evening sessions.
  
  

• Meets: Majority of scheduled competitions.
