Camp Courageous is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Aquatics Director to support the Aquatics Director in overseeing the daily operations, safety, and programming of the Aquatic Center and waterfront areas. The Assistant Aquatics Director helps develop and implement swim programs, maintain facilities, and ensure a safe, inclusive aquatic environment for campers, staff, and community participants.
Support planning and facilitation of aquatic programs tailored to camper groups and weekly themes
Assist in ensuring the highest standards of safety across all aquatic and waterfront areas; proactively identify and report hazards
Maintain a consistent cleaning and maintenance schedule for aquatic facilities
Support and lead swim lessons as needed
Collaborate with lifeguards and aquatic staff to coordinate lesson plans, schedules, and daily needs
Provide timely problem-solving in response to day-to-day challenges
Stay informed on relevant safety and compliance regulations
Promote a positive, inclusive environment aligned with Camp Courageous’ mission and values
Must be 21 years or older
Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about aquatics and water-based activities
Demonstrates kindness, patience, and the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying abilities
Current Lifeguard certification with Waterfront endorsement, plus First Aid and CPR
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications preferred (or ability to obtain)
Physically capable of performing duties including working in varying weather conditions, walking long distances, and lifting 50+ pounds
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
Previous aquatics or waterfront leadership experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Valid driver’s license
