The SouthWest Aquatics Swim Team (STAR), located in Winter Garden, Florida
(Orlando area), is a privately owned Bronze Level Club that is looking to
hire Part Time and Full Time Assistant Coaches.
DESCRIPTION: Part Time and Full Time Assistant Coach positions available
Compensation: Commensurate with coaching experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Not Required)
Hours Per Week Under 30 hours (afternoon , early evening and Weekend hours as
needed per meet schedule).
SWA is looking for coaches to align with the policy and procedures set forth by SWA to
assist the Head Coach or any other coaches by need.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-3 Years swim coach experience
CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, APT, Background check and in good
standing with USA Swimming and ASCA Level 2
Abides by applicable USA Swimming Codes of Conduct and Safe Sport Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embrace and advocate the STAR Culture
Passion for coaching and working with variable level athletes
Comprehension of stroke development and technique fundamentals
Plan, prepare, and conduct group practices.
Keep records and reports as directed by the Head Coach
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Attend assigned staff meetings
Attend the assigned meets for the practice group, ages 13-18 and 11-12
Entries for the assigned practice group are complete and correct
Communication:
Communicate all actions regularly between Head Age Group Coach/Head Senior Coach
Excellent email communication to parents with timely response (within 24 hours)
Continually discusses goals with athletes and communicate to parents in a patient and
respectable manner
Professionalism:
Dress appropriately and professionally. Be aware of language, demeanor and
sportsmanship for the athletes
Help promote a safe and positive experience for all swimmers.
