POSITION: Dynamo Swim Club located in Atlanta, GA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Coach. We are looking for a passionate and energetic coaches that will fill a full-time position at our Johns Creek location. The ideal candidate will work with both age group and senior training groups, with the opportunity for future upward growth within the program. This position reports directly to the Head Age Group Coach and Head Coach.
BACKGROUND: For over 60 years, Dynamo Swim Club has continually grown and developed into a model 18 & under swim club in the United States. Since the early 1980s, Dynamo swimmers have represented the United States at the Olympic Games, World Championships, the Pan American Games, Pan Pacific Championships, The Goodwill Games, and the World University Games. We are a USA Swimming Podium Club of Excellence, and our program consistently has some of the highest Scholastic All Americans recognitions in the country. The American Swimming Coaches Association has repeatedly recognized Dynamo’s exceptional training and stroke technique which has resulted in individual and team titles at USA Swimming National and Junior National Championships. Dynamo was well represented at both the 2024 Paris and 2021 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games (including medalists Brooks Curry, Jay Litherland, and Gia Pergolini). Most recently our men’s team were champions at the 2022 Speedo Junior National Championships in Irvine, California.

1. We train athletes, and we coach people. Our program is grounded in science and experience, and swimming is our vehicle to prepare our athletes for success in and out of the pool.

3. We teach, train, and compete in all strokes and all distances, putting value in a well-rounded swimmer. We strongly believe in long-term athletic development (LTAD). We are proud members of the Gambetta Athletic Improvement Network (GAIN) and dryland is an integral part in our LTAD plan.

Dynamo Swim Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that that brings the sport of swimming to individuals of all ages and experience levels. Since the club’s inception in 1964, we’ve grown from a small network of summer league teams to become one of the top ranked age group clubs in USA Swimming. Dynamo swimmers have enjoyed success at every level of competitive swimming from achieving state, regional and national team titles to setting American records and world ranked times. Our mission is to pursue excellence in competitive swimming and create lifelong athletes.
History
For over 50 years, Dynamo Swim Club has continually grown and developed into a model 18 and under club in the US. As a top age group program in Georgia Swimming, Dynamo has built numerous state champions and record holders and has achieved national recognition in countless National Age Group Top 16 rankings. Furthermore, Dynamo consistently has more Scholastic All Americans than any other team in the country.
Since the early 1980s, Dynamo swimmers have represented the United States at the Olympic Games, World Championships, the Pan American Games, Pan Pacific Championships, The Goodwill Games, and the World University Games. Dynamo had four swimmers in Rio for the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics. Gunnar Bentz (gold medal) and Jay Litherland (5th) represented the USA, as did Paralympic finalist, McClain Hermes (8th). Additionally, 2012 London Olympian Matias Koski made his second Olympic appearance in Rio, representing Finland.
Dynamo’s Ripples
In addition to a large 18 and under swim team, Dynamo’s passion for swimming flows to many swimming programs. Dynamo Swim School offers swim instruction for beginning swimmers at six Atlanta locations. Dynamo Juniors introduces swimmers to the concept of year-round swimming. Dynamo Masters provides year-round competitive swimming for adults while Dynamo Multisport builds triathletes. Other water activities, like Dynamo Water Polo and Dynamo’s recreational and wellness programs are supported by Dynamo facilities. Dynamo Pool Management provides services and staffing to neighborhood, community and country club pools throughout the Atlanta area.
