Job Overview:
The Part Time Assistant Coaches role is to assist the head coach during daily swim practices, provide feedback to athletes, attend swim meets, and foster a safe and supportive environment for young developing swimmers. Assistant Coach will coach all levels of the team from pre competition level to Senior level.
Hourly rate: $25 - 35 per hour pending experience
Responsibilities:
- Attendance at swim meets (C/B/A and Championship level)
- Coach work outs (including writing sets and leading practice)
- Teach basic swim skills in a group lesson setting
- Provide correct technical feedback to athletes
- Minimal to no administrative work
- Communicate with head coach all necessary information from practices and competition
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment that allows athletes to succeed
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be reliable and available (evenings and weekends)
- Must have excellent observational and communication skills
- Must be able to work in the US
- Must be able to drive
- Demonstrate an ability to work well and communicate effectively with athletes of all ages/abilities
Education/Experience:
- At least High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in competitive swimming (USA Swimming, high school swimming, and/or collegiate background preferred)
- Experience developing athletes
- Maintain lifeguard certification
- Complete all USA Swimming certification and coaching requirements: CPR, First Aid, USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection, Lifeguard, Concussion Protocol, etc. FOG will reimburse for the cost of any certifications or memberships during and before starting the job
