Napa Valley Swim Team (NVST) is a USA Swimming and Safe Sport accredited competitive swim club serving athletes ages 5–18 across the greater Napa Valley. We are a community-rooted, family-engaged program led by a volunteer parent board, and we are seeking a head coach who combines technical expertise with genuine heart for athlete development.
This is a full-time, exempt position responsible for all aspects of coaching leadership — from designing and leading practice schedules 5–6 days per week, to hiring and mentoring assistant coaches, managing meet operations, and building the family and community relationships that define our culture. The head coach also serves as a strategic advocate for athlete progression, including creating collegiate pathways for swimmers with competitive aspirations.
Required qualifications:
Current USA Swimming coach certification in good standing · ASCA Level 3 or higher · CPR and First Aid certified · Minimum 4 years of competitive coaching experience, including 2+ years as a head coach in a multi-level program · Must pass a background check
Preferred: senior, collegiate, or national-level coaching or competitive experience · American Red Cross Lifeguard certification · familiarity with team management software and social media for athletic programs.
