Full & Part Time Coaches - Rockville Montgomery Swim Club (Montgomery County, MD)

The Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC) seek motivated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic swim coaches for both Assistant Coach and Lead Coach positions at four locations in Montgomery County, Maryland:

RMSC Locations:

·         Germantown Indoor Swim Center – Germantown (18000 Central Park Circle, Boyds, MD 20841)

·         Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center – Silver Spring (1201 Jackson Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)

·         Olney Swim Center – Olney (16605 Georgia Avenue, Olney, MD, 20832)

·         Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center – N. Bethesda (5900 Executive Blvd, N. Bethesda, MD 20852) (currently under renovation; coaching at alternate locations)

 Coaching Roles Available (Contract Positions)

Assistant Coach:

·         2+ practices/week, occasional meets - Hourly pay: $20–$32/hr. (based on experience)

Lead Coach and/or Site Administrator:

·         2+ practices/week, regular meet attendance - Hourly pay: $22–$36/hr. (based on experience)

·         Involves paid group planning, meet coaching, and administrative responsibilities

The availability of hours depends on site needs. Positions are hourly, with no benefits. Commitment for full year or seasonal (fall/winter/spring) required.

Practice Groups by Level

Developmental Groups: Mini’s (8 & under), Juniors / Junior 1 & 2 (9–12), Seniors (13–18)

Advanced Groups: Advanced Juniors (9–12), National Developmental (11–14), Senior Training (13–15), Advanced Seniors & National Training (13–18)

 Minimum Requirements:

·         Competitive swimming experience (Summer League, High School, Club, Collegiate)

·         Experience in swim instruction and/or coaching clinics preferred

·         Must pass all Montgomery County and USA Swimming hiring requirements, including:

          *  Background checks

          *  USA Swimming certifications (Foundations of Coaching, Rules & Regulations, Safe Sport, Concussion Training)

          *  CPR and Safety Training for Swim Coaches (club can assist with training)
