About CAT
The Corvallis Aquatic Team is a USA Swimming member club and 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Corvallis, Oregon. Our mission is to promote competitive, fitness, and recreational swimming throughout the Willamette Valley. We are committed to athlete development at every level and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.
Responsibilities
● Plan and conduct on-deck practices for 12 & Under athletes, emphasizing stroke technique, starts, turns, and race skills
● Plan and conduct midday Master’s practice and additional practice coverage as needed
● Develop individualized athlete training plans; create a positive, growth-oriented team environment.
● Manage meet entries, upload results, and attend home meets and assigned away meets.
● Maintain the annual meet schedule, equipment inventory, and assigned sections of the CAT website and social media.
● Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, the Board, and the broader swim community.
● Lead Age Group recruitment and proactively manage swimmer retention.
● Ensure full compliance with SafeSport, MAAPP, and all USA Swimming safety policies.
Qualifications
● Current USA Swimming coach membership with all required certifications (CPR/AED, First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, SafeSport/Athlete Protection Training).
● Passed USA Swimming criminal background check prior to working with athletes.
● Demonstrated coaching experience with age group or youth competitive swimmers.
● Strong communication skills with athletes, parents, and staff; proficiency with meet management software.

The Corvallis Aquatic Team (CAT) is a competitive swimming team offering year-round instruction, training, and opportunities for competition to athletes of all ages, abilities and interest levels. We are located in Corvallis, Oregon - a vibrant and sustainable city of approximately 61,000 residents nestled in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Corvallis is the home to Oregon State University; and the Oregon Coast, Cascade Mountains, and the city of Portland are all within 90 minutes of our town.
CAT offers a year-round youth swim team to approximately 125 swimmers and an active adult Masters group of around 40 swimmers, as well as a spring/summer-only swim league for children ages 5+.
