Mission Viejo Nadadores | Competitive Swim Team
Salary: $60,000–$72,000 annually (DOE)
About the Role
Mission Viejo Nadadores is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Coach to lead age group swimmers in a positive, high-performance environment. Working with the Division Director and coaching staff, you will develop athletes through technical instruction, race preparation, goal setting, and mentorship while promoting the values of integrity, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily practices for assigned training groups.
- Teach stroke technique, race strategy, and age-appropriate dryland training.
- Evaluate athlete performance through race analysis, video review, and goal tracking.
- Prepare meet entries and attend assigned competitions, practices, staff meetings, and team events.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and coaching staff, providing regular feedback and support.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive team culture while serving as a professional role model.
- Maintain athlete records and complete administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Competitive swimming coaching experience required.
- Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, athlete development, race strategy, and performance analysis.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current (or ability to obtain) USA Swimming coach certifications, including CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, and a current background check.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and TeamUnify (or similar team management software) preferred.
Schedule
- Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required.
- Attendance at assigned swim meets, practices, staff meetings, and team events is expected.
