Salary: $42,000–$65,000 annually (DOE)

About the Role

Mission Viejo Nadadores is seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Coach to help develop swimmers in a positive, athlete-centered environment. Working alongside the Division Director and coaching staff, you will help athletes build strong technical skills while fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and coach daily practices for assigned training groups.
• Teach proper stroke technique, skill development, and age-appropriate dryland training.
• Attend assigned practices, competitions, staff meetings, and team events.
• Prepare meet entries and assist with competition logistics.
• Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and coaching staff.
• Maintain athlete records and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
• Create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all swimmers.
• Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Competitive swimming and/or coaching experience required.
• Strong knowledge of stroke technique and swimmer development.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current (or ability to obtain) USA Swimming coach certifications, including CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, and a current background check.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; TeamUnify experience is a plus.

Schedule

• Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required.
• Attendance at assigned swim meets and team events is expected.
