Do you have the expertise, patience, and passion to shape tomorrow’s champions while fostering a lifelong love of the sport? LCSC is searching for an exceptional Head Age Group Coach to lead our 12 & Under program and help build on our tradition of developing top-tier swimmers in a supportive, driven, and dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead with Precision: Deliver patient, step-by-step technical instruction rooted in strong biomechanics. Turn drills into breakthroughs for every swimmer.
  • Collaborate at a High Level: Work closely with the Head Coach to ensure every swimmer benefits from a cohesive, progressive, and individualized development plan.
  • Coach to Inspire: Lead groups of up to 20 swimmers in a safe, challenging, and energetic training environment where athletes are excited to work hard and improve.
  • Be All In: Commit to weeknight and weekend coaching to align with our training and competition schedule—bringing full presence and energy to every session.

Job Responsibilities:

1.         Work directly with the Head Coach to plan and program the 12 + U Competitive Swim Team.

2.         Provide a safe and supportive environment for all swim team participants.

3.         Assist in planning for seasonal as well as long term goals for the swim team as well as their specific practice groups.

4.         Act as Lead Coach for two practice groups each day.

5.         Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to the Age Group and Developmental Coaching Staff.

6.         Provide parent/swimmer communication through phone, email, and website. Updates will be provided on a regular basis.

7.         Assist in all aspects of meet management. Including entries, setup, and breakdown.

8.         Attend all staff meetings and training opportunities as requested.

9.         Document daily attendance and training plans.

10.    Roster and retention planning for all age group training groups.

11.    Assist the Head Coach with swimming clinics.

12.    Plan and provide opportunities for placement/tryout swims for new swimmers throughout the year.

13.    Develop and track swimmer recognition programs and update postings.

14.    Volunteer for appointments with Michigan Swimming, USA Swimming, ASCA or other professional groups.

15.    Performs other duties as assigned & help with Fundraising Campaigns.
