Part-Time Masters Swim Coach
NOVA of Virginia Aquatics – Richmond, VA
NOVA of Virginia Aquatics (NOVA), one of the premier swim programs in the country, is seeking a part-time Masters Coach to join our staff. This coach will primarily work with our growing Masters team, supporting adult swimmers of all levels — from fitness swimmers to competitive athletes.
Position Details
Minimum on-deck commitment: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:45 – 7:45 am
Part-time role with the opportunity for additional hours and involvement
Reports to the Masters Head Coach
Responsibilities
Lead engaging practices that serve a wide range of swimmer abilities and goals
Foster a positive and inclusive training environment
Provide stroke feedback, training plans, and encouragement tailored to individual swimmer needs
Assist with meet preparation, team communication, and community-building initiatives as needed
Open the facility before practice and close down the facility after each practice
Qualifications
Prior coaching experience (Masters, club, high school, or collegiate) preferred
Strong knowledge of stroke technique and training principles
Enthusiasm for working with adult athletes and supporting their fitness and competitive goals
Must be US Masters registered
Current CPR/AED, lifeguarding, and other coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain)

NOVA has provided top-notch swim training for our community's youth. Alongside its trademark competitive swimming program, NOVA is also committed to equipping children in the surrounding community with the important life skill of swimming. At its inception, NOVA began offering swim lessons to meet the community’s need for an affordable learn-to-swim program. Over time, program offerings have expanded to include clinics, high school prep and varsity team practice and meets for non-year-round swimmers, adult lap swimming (NOVAFit), and adult competitive swimming (Masters).
