Head Swim Coach

Job Description

Four Corners Aquatic Team (FCAT) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Head Swim Coach. The Head coach position is responsible for leading all aspects of a year round, competitive USA swim team operated by a non-profit parent board run organization. FCAT is a USA club team with about 80 age group (ages 5-18) swimmers and a Masters Team of about 12. FCAT practices at the City of Farmington Aquatic Center.

By providing daily physical and mental challenges in the pool and teaching our athletes how to excel at them, FCAT swimmers learn how to do the same in everyday life. With the help of friends, family, and mentors, FCAT athletes are learning to work hard and reap the benefits for life. FCAT strives to provide a safe supportive environment in which our athletes can experience success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct coaching duties for all swimmers (ages 6-18) 
  • Design and implement training plans for all training groups with an emphasis on proper
    technique, long-term development and racing skills
  • Oversee seasonal progression of athletes, set goals with swimmers and monitor phases of
    development with individual swimmers
  • Set training schedules, practice groups, and athlete placements within these groups
  • Model and celebrate the club’s values and behaviors
  • Oversee hiring and development of all coaches
  • Plan each season’s meet schedule consistent with the needs of the team, individual training
    groups, athletes, and their families
  • Communicate with parents and swimmers including meet information, results, and feedback
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on team goals, planning and staffing 

Qualifications
• Current USA Swimming Coach Membership in Good Standing
• Must pass USA Swimming Background Check
• Current CPR, First Aid & SafeSport certifications
• Minimum of 5 years coaching experience with competitive swimmers, ideally with 2+ years of
    Head Coach experience
• Competitive swimming background
• Proficient in TeamUnify, Hy-Tek Meet/Team Manager and general computer literacy
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop swimmers in a positive, team oriented culture

Expectations
• This is a full-time position with approximately 20-25 hours on deck and 5-10 hours administrative
      work each week. Compensation is based on experience.
• Standing and moving on deck for extended periods
• Travel approximately 1-2 weekends a month for swim meets/events
• Ability to manage emergencies and maintain professional composure under pressure
• Maintain a working relationships with other clubs within our LSC
