Full Time and Part Time Coaches – Beach Cities Alpha

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Beach Cities Alpha is accepting applications for Full Time and Part Time coaches to join our dedicated staff of committed professionals. Beach Cities Alpha is a 2025 & 2026 USA Swimming Silver Medal Club, and is the premier 18-under high-performance team in the South Bay, currently boasting multiple athletes ranked in the Top 10 in the nation.

Our recent team accomplishments include: 2025 Winter Junior National Team Champions, 2025 Speedo Spring Sectionals Team Champions, 2024 Winter Junior Nationals Women’s Team Runner-Up, multiple USA Swimming National Age Group Records, 3 2024 Olympic Trials Qualifiers, and 2 members of the 2025 USA Swimming National Junior Team

Candidates must be enthusiastic teachers and excellent communicators as well as passionate students of the sport.  Our current staff members are all incredibly versatile with diversified skill sets, which would allow us to tailor a new position specific to the qualifications and skills of the successful applicant.

Position Details:

• Part Time positions range from 5 to 20 hours per week on deck.  Full Time positions include 5-6 practice days per week, 1-2 meet weekends per month, and additional administrative duties.
• Potential positions include assistant and leadership positions throughout our program; Developmental, Age Group, and Senior level coaches are all encouraged to apply.
• All coaches attend monthly staff meetings with additional opportunities for continuing education experiences and certifications.

General Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years professional coaching experience, or extensive experience in/around the sport of swimming.
• Current USA Swimming coaching certifications, or the ability to obtain them upon hiring.
• Passion for coaching and developing athletes of all ages and ability levels.
• Strong communication and organizational skills as well as a commitment to teamwork.
• Experience working with TeamUnify and/or HyTek is preferred.

 Compensation:

Beach Cities Alpha offers competitive coaching salaries commensurate with experience and education.  Full Time positions include benefits and paid time off and are eligible for a retirement account with matching team contributions.

We offer high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. Every member of our team has the opportunity to improve swimming skills and optimize success from beginners to international competitors.

In addition to our competitive swim team, we offer swimming opportunities for all ages and ability levels including Special Needs Swim Team and Pre-Competitive Swim Team.

All of our coaches participate in professional development, and have access to the most comprehensive training and tools. This training ensures athletes’ time in the water will be spent efficiently.
