EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
Bachelors Degree
Three years coaching experience in aquatics and related management experience.

CERTIFICATION: 

Minimum Valid Level Three (3) Coaching Certification by the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) 

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Safety Training for Swim Coaches

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY: 
Assists the Director of Aquatics in organizing and managing all aspects of the aquatic programs offered by the North East Independent School District (NEISD). Serves as the Head Coach for the North East Aquatic Team (NEAT)/ USA Swimming Club-Alamo Area Aquatic Association (AAAA).

This is a 230-day position featuring a split schedule that varies by season (Fall, Spring, Summer). This structure may include a split in the workday, such as a morning shift (e.g., 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM) and an afternoon/evening shift (e.g., 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM) during the Fall season, with a minimum of 8 hours per day.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Aquatics Department
1. Coordinates with the Director of Aquatics to ensure alignment of all aquatics programs resulting in cohesive program operations.
2. Assists Director of Aquatics with scheduling, reviewing, supervising, adapting, collaborating, developing and coordinating the high school swimming and diving programs and events to contribute to the efficient operation and continuous improvement of all district aquatics activities.
3. Researches proposed program changes, gathers and analyzes data, considers available solutions or alternative plans, and makes recommendations to the Director of Aquatics.
4. Advises, assists, explains and consults with high school coaches, swimmers and staff.
5. Possesses an awareness of the District’s curricula and works to ensure that athletics/aquatics is an integral part of the student-athlete instructional process.
6. Ensures a healthy and safe environment for the protection of student athletes resulting in a documented record of full compliance with all safety regulations and a proactive approach to risk management.
7. Maintains confidentiality of information.
8. Conducts regular staff meetings and works closely with the Head Age Group Coach.
9. Maintains scheduled and posted office hours.
10. Reports to work on time every day.
11. Assists and attends, as needed, other activities at the Blossom Athletic Center.
12. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

NEAT/Alamo Area Aquatic Association
1. Serves as the NEAT/AAAA Head Coach.
2. Assists Director of Aquatics with scheduling, reviewing, supervising, adapting, collaborating, developing and coordinating the NEAT/AAAA and the North East Summer Swim League.
3. Responsible for training, educating, supervising and annual reviews for all NEAT/AAAA coaches.
4. Assists administrative staff with the development, preparation and management of the NEAT Budget.
5. Interviews applicants and provides employment recommendations for NEAT/AAAA coaches to the Director of Aquatics.
6. Develops goals, objectives and team philosophy for the NEAT/AAAA program.
7. Advises, assists, explains and consults with NEAT/AAAA coaches, swimmers and staff providing actionable guidance that improves individual and team performance across all aquatics programs.
8. Schedules NEAT/AAAA tryouts with Head Age Group Coach and Administrative Team.
9. Creates, organizes, maintains and implements NEAT/AAAA schedule and all associated coaching assignments, travel arrangements and timecards (KRONOS) with administrative staff.
10. Conducts NEAT/AAAA staff and parent meetings to foster open, consistent, and productive communication resulting in a fully informed and supportive community base for the program.
11. Oversees the overall direction of the NEAT/AAAA team-in-water and dryland training.
12. Disseminates technical information regarding stroke mechanics and current training methods as recommended by USA Swimming.
