Position Overview

Waynesville Blue Dolphins is seeking a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and 2 Coaches -in-Training (CIT) to lead a competitive, athlete-centered summer swim program.

Head CoThe role oversees program direction, swimmer development, and coaching staff leadership.

We are looking for leaders who can help our swimmers meet their greatest potential through fostering a love of swimming, providing growth-oriented feedback to improve performance, promote team unity, and have fun along the way.

The Head Coach has full responsibility for the program’s “wet side,” including training design, competitive strategy, staff leadership, swim meet, preparation, swim meet administration, and promoting team unity and performance.

Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach, assisting in staff leadership and development, assist with administration of practices, and swim meet preparation in head coach absence, and assisting in enhancing the performance of swimmers.  

Coaches-in-Training are responsible for working as members of the coaching team, monitoring swimmers during training sessions and competitions to ensure safety and adherence to rules, teaching various swimming styles, such as freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke, and preparing swimmers for competitions by teaching strategies and providing motivational support. 

About the Waynesville Blue Dolphins

  • We are small but mighty. We are working towards growing our numbers. 
  • Board-owned agency
  • Practices are held four days per week (Monday through Thursday) for 60 minutes.
  • The season includes 6–7 meets (held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings).
  • Age groups consist of 10 and under and 11 and over.

Compensation

Highly competitive, with a range of salary depending on experience.
