Job Description
HVA Current is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Group Lead Coach to oversee our Ripples and Ripcurrent developmental programs in Hampton, Virginia. This position plays a key role in building strong technical foundations, fostering confidence and work ethic, and creating a positive team culture for developing swimmers.
The Lead Coach will work closely with the Head Age Group Coach to implement daily training progressions, evaluate swimmer development and placement, support assistant coaches, and communicate professionally with parents and athletes. Ideal candidates are strong teachers and communicators who value long-term athlete development, technical progression, and creating an engaging, athlete-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities include practice planning and administration, swimmer evaluation, meet preparation, parent communication, and helping uphold the culture and standards of the program. Candidates should be energetic, organized, patient, and passionate about teaching younger swimmers.
Part-time position with competitive hourly pay based on experience and certifications. USA Swimming certification required (or ability to obtain prior to coaching). Continuing education support through USA Swimming and ASCA available.
