FLEET is seeking an accomplished, high-performing Head Swim Coach to lead the club’s full competitive swimming program and shape its next 
stage of growth. This is the senior coaching leadership position at FLEET, with responsibility for competitive vision, athlete-development systems, coaching standards, staff leadership, and program performance across all training groups and locations. 

This opportunity is best suited for a proven deck coach and strategic program builder who has successfully developed athletes to Sectional, Futures, Junior National, National, collegiate, or comparable levels and who is ready to lead an integrated club-wide performance system. The 
ideal candidate will bring the vision, leadership, and discipline to elevate training standards, mentor coaches, strengthen the athlete pipeline, and create a culture of accountability, consistency, and long-term athlete development. 

About FLEET Swimming 
FLEET Swimming is a year-round USA Swimming club serving hundreds of athletes in Northwest Houston, beginning competitive swimmers 
through national-level competitors. The club operates from its privately owned aquatics campus and satellite locations throughout the Cypress 
area, providing a strong platform for continued competitive growth, staff development, and long-term program building.

Organizational Structure & Authority 
The Head Swim Coach is the senior leader of the competitive swimming program and has authority over swimming, specific program decisions, 
subject to Board governance, approved budgets, and organizational policies. The Head Swim Coach reports to the Board of Directors. 
Administrative staff support the Head Coach through registration, communications, meet operations, scheduling, purchasing, travel logistics, 
and business functions, while swim-specific decisions remain the responsibility of the Head Coach within Board-approved policies and budgets. 
This structure is intended to create clear accountability: the Head Coach owns the competitive swim program, the administrative staff supports 
execution and club operations, and the Board governs the organization without managing day-to-day coaching decisions. 

Primary Responsibilities 
Competitive Program Leadership 
• Set and implement the vision, training philosophy, competitive standards, and strategic direction for FLEET's competitive swim program. 
• Lead all swim-specific decisions involving competitive programming, coaching assignments, group structure, athlete progression, training standards, and competition planning. 
• Establish annual team goals, performance objectives, and standards of accountability for athletes and coaches. 
• Build and protect an athlete-centered culture grounded in excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, character, and long-term development. 

Athlete Development & Performance 
• Establish and oversee a club-wide athlete-development philosophy and progression model from developmental swimming through national-level competition. 
• Create clear advancement standards and ensure continuity in skill development, training expectations, and competitive preparation 
across Age Group, Junior, and Senior programs. 
• Empower lead coaches to design age- and level-appropriate training within FLEET's established philosophy, standards, and performance objectives. 
• Implement FLEET’s current dryland program within practice plans to ensure consistent integration of strength, mobility, injuryprevention, and athlete-development objectives across training groups. 
• Serve as the primary deck coach for FLEET's highest-performance Senior training group while providing leadership and oversight across the full competitive program. 
• Evaluate athlete performance, guide championship preparation and high-performance planning, and support college recruiting and next-level opportunities for graduating athletes. 

Coaching Staff Leadership 
• Lead the recruitment and selection of competitive swim coaches within approved staffing plans and budgets. 
• Assign coaching responsibilities and establish clear expectations and accountability for each training group. 
• Supervise, mentor, and formally evaluate competitive swim coaches on a regular basis.

Program Growth, Administration & Communication 
• Drive athlete recruitment, retention, appropriate progression, and a strong pathway from learn-to-swim into competitive swimming. 
• Identify opportunities to strengthen programming, facility utilization, and responsible program growth. 
• Partner with office administration on scheduling, registrations, communications, meet-entry execution, purchasing, travel logistics, and operational support. 
• Cultivate and maintain positive, professional working relationships with area high school swim coaches to support athlete development, coordination, communication, and the broader Cypress-area swimming community. 
• Participate in annual budgeting and operate the competitive swim program within Board-approved financial parameters. 
• Maintain applicable USA Swimming, coach certification, Safe Sport, and club-compliance requirements; communicate clearly with 
athletes, families, coaches, club leadership, and the broader swimming community. 

Performance & Accountability 
The Head Coach will be evaluated on the overall health and performance of the competitive program, including athlete development and championship progression, recruitment and retention, strength of the Age Group, Junior, and Senior pipeline, coach development and 
accountability, competitive results, program culture and communication, and responsible stewardship of staffing and program budgets. 

Qualifications 
Required 
• Significant USA Swimming competitive coaching experience, including substantial leadership responsibility within a multi-group program. 
• Demonstrated success developing athletes across multiple ages and performance levels. 
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, evaluate, and hold coaching staff accountable. 
• Strong knowledge of long-term athlete development, training design, championship preparation, and progression systems, with excellent leadership, judgment, communication, and organizational skills. 
• Current USA Swimming coach membership and all required certifications, or ability to satisfy all requirements before employment. 
• Ability to meet all USA Swimming Safe Sport and background-screening requirements. 

Preferred 
• Experience managing a facility and leading a large, multi-site competitive swim club or comparable program. 
• Demonstrated development of Sectional, Futures, Junior National, National, collegiate, or comparable high-performance athletes. 
• Experience building a cohesive athlete-development pipeline and managing staffing and budgets. 
• Experience with TeamUnify, Hy-Tek/Meet Manager, or comparable systems 
• College, National Team, or other elite-level coaching experience is a plus. 

Compensation & Benefits 
FLEET intends to offer a compensation package designed to attract an experienced Head Coach capable of leading a high-performance USA Swimming program. Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to lead athletes, coaches, and clubwide performance systems. The package may include:
